Description

Niacinamide is a perfect active in a moistruizer because it helps calm down inflamation in skin and support the skin barrier. EOP stands for a linked Ester fatty acid, a linked Omega hydroxy fatty acid, and the Phytosphingosine base. A good formulation with skin strengthening / protecting ingredients, especially good for dehydrated skin (lacking water, rather than lacking oil). This means that our molecule is part water- and part oil-loving, so it not only works as a thickener but also as an emulsion stabilizer. Also, has some antimicrobial activity so it can help to boost the effectiveness of the preservative system.

More recently Liyya completed a postgraduate certificate in non-medical prescribing so that she can apply her knowledge to managing Dermatica patients. It can be produced from most vegetable oils (in oils three fatty acid molecules are attached to glycerin instead of just one like here) in a pretty simple, "green" process that is similar to soap making. Water most often acts as a solvent - this means that it helps dissolve other ingredients into the formulation. This is because olive oil derived squalane can contain impurities such as fatty acids and plant waxes. Your skin uses Vitamin C to produce collagen and collagen production plays a role in having a strong skin barrier and plump skin.I love the texture of this cream because it is quite thin and spreads easily over the skin and doesn’t interfere with products that I layer over it…moisturiser and SPF. You can read about the start of my journey here in a previous post Dermatica – My Journey which was actually posted a year ago now so I will be back to update on this soon! Particularly passionate about dermatology, Mary completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology from the University of South Wales to enhance her skills in this area. The concentration of about 2% is effective for supporting the skin barrier and evening out the skin tone. So I was looking for a daily moisturiser that would not clog my pores and not make my acne worse, while not being too heavy or too light.

c. puts it in his awesome blog post, squalane's main things are " emolliency , surface occlusion, and TEWL prevention all with extreme cosmetic elegance". Each product has been formulated to support your skin while you’re using Dermatica’s personalised treatments (which are packed with active ingredients). Because it is slightly thicker than your typical hyaluronic acid serum, it doesn’t layer quite as well, but that’s fine by me as I tend to use this at night anyway. I do find that this takes a little while to blend into my skin but, once it does, it doesn’t feel particularly heavy or greasy. I tend to use it in the evening and it applies really nicely – two pumps is usually enough to cover my whole face.Premenstrual symptoms, starting or stopping contraception (including pills, IUDs and implants) and hormonal changes during pregnancy and menopause can all result in acne breakouts. If you’re interested in their prescription retinoid plan but you’re not sure if it’s right for you, take a look at my full review here.

I have PCOS and have struggled with acne for over 10 years, and have tried what feels like every acne medication available. You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product. So ceramides form kind of a "water-proof" protecting layer and make sure that our skin remains nice and hydrated. You may have heard of Dermatica and know them to be an online dermatology service whereby you upload photos of your skin and detail your concerns, for this to be looked at by their dermatology experts and have a prescribed treatment sent to you. Vitamin C helps reduce redness, improve skin texture, reduce the effects of aging, reduce the visibility of dark spots, and brighten skin.Ceramides are intercellular lipids naturally found in our skin that bonds dead skin cells together to create a barrier. The manufacturer claims that it has a great sustainability profile, long lasting stability and a unique, light and silky feel that's ideal as a base for modern, eco-friendly body lotions and facial care products. I am a fan of this moisturiser because it’s light, absorbs well into my skin and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated.

Avnish has a diverse set of scientific skills and uses his knowledge to ensure that patients receive the best possible quality of medicinal products. If you wanna become a real HA-and-the-skin expert you can read way more about the topic at hyaluronic acid (including penetration-questions, differences between high and low molecular weight versions and a bunch of references to scientific literature). Aside from azelaic acid, this cream also contains squalane and a trio of ceramides which moisturise the skin and keep the skin barrier healthy. This involved examining a range of dermatology conditions including inflammatory dermatoses, skin infections and lesions at specific sites and has given Mary the skills to make evidence-based decisions in her practice. Might help moisturize and protect the skin from free radicals, but mostly used in low concentrations to stabilize other ingredients. We also checked Prospector for sodium hyaluronate versions actually used in cosmetic products and found that the most common molecular weight was 1. It is excellent for acne-prone skin and safe to use even if you have fungi-related skin issues, like seborrhea or fungal acne.
